I have 2 different approaches to tablet computers for sale that couldn’t be much different. First up is the 11” iPad Air M3 that has all the premium options checked off. It is the Space Gray color with a 5G cellular option and 1tb of storage. The 5G cellular is not locked to any service provider and you can choose to use it or ignore it, as you wish. 1tb of storage puts its functionality a few notches above the standard MacBook capability. This iPad Air is new, in-the-box and has the AppleCare+ coverage. It also comes with an as-new (open box) Apple Magic Keyboard. The keyboard makes this computer even more like a MacBook; but one with a touchscreen. This year’s M4 version similarly equipped sells at $1,830. I am asking $1000 even. An $830 savings. Add an Apple Pencil Pro for another $80. The Microsoft take on a Tablet Computer its this year’s just introduced 13” Surface Pro. This new, in-the-box Black model has 16gb of ram, a 512gb SSD and is powered by the 2nd generation Snapdragon X2 Plus processor and comes with the upgraded Microsoft Surface Pro Flex Keyboard and Slim Pen stylus. The current discounted price from Best Buy is $1729. I am offering this one at $1595. The standard keyboard only works attached to the tablet itself. The Flex keyboard attaches and charges magnetically and can be removed and placed where ever it is most comfortable. It also features backlit keys and a large touchpad while it holds and charges the included Slim Pen stylus. Both devices are similarly equipped, but while the iPad Air has evolved from a touch based interface and grown in power to do much that a MacBook does, the Surface Pro is at its heart a Windows 11 computer that has grown a touch based, hand held capability. For the creative types, both have superb stylus (or finger) drawing applications. If you are a convert to AI applications, the Surface Pro has a head start. If you are super concerned with privacy and security, the iPad Air is subscribes to Apple’s slow, but steady, adaptation of AI. This iPad Air’s 5G cellular and ultra compact form factor make it the more convenient travel companion, while the still compact 13” Surface Pro gives you more screen real estate to get work done on.
