The Mudroom: Once in a Blue Moon Storytelling Night

Subject: [Events-UV] CALL FOR STORIES--AVA GALLERY'S MUDROOM!

AVA Gallery's quarterly story-telling series, The Mudroom, is looking for storytellers who can tell a good story related to the theme “Once in a Blue Moon." We are looking for storytellers who have had a very singular experience at some point in their lives. If you have a good story to tell, we want to hear it!

The Mudroom will be held the evening of Thursday, Sept 10, 2026, beginning at 7pm. Stories are limited to around 10 minutes, must be true and autobiographical, and must be told live—not read! The Mudroom is an incredibly supportive venue for live storytelling. We hope that you will give it a try!

To submit your story, in fewer than 300 words give us a sketch of your true, personal story. Just tell us what your story is about and what happens in the end. Give us a sense of the story arc and how your story affected you. Please also include a brief biography of fewer than 100 words.

Past Mudrooms can be found on AVA’s YouTube page or at www.uvjam.org. If you have participated in some of the various informal story jams around the Upper Valley, this is a great next step.

Please send your story submission and short bio to sheryl@avagallery.org. The deadline for story submissions is August 20. We will then select 5 – 6 stories from the submission pool. Storytellers are required to attend a rehearsal at 4pm on Sunday, August 30 at AVA Gallery and Art Center in downtown Lebanon, NH.
