Thank you to ALL who made Saturday’s Big Trash event a huge success! Over 80 area households participated. We collected twelve (12!!) pallets of electronics and full roll-off containers of tires and bulky trash. Special thanks to our partners: Greater Upper Valley Solid Waste Management District and Outreach Coordinator Andy Scherer; Good Point Recycling (electronics); Evergreen Recycling (tires) and Quinttown Container! Thanks to Darlene Cook, WF Energy Coordinators and Planning Commission for spotlighting local programs in the Community Outreach Tent (and serving up some delicious refreshments!) Finally, thank you to the “crew” Peggy Burden, Laurie Hildebrandt, Bree Carlson, and Bruce Durkee who wrangled recliners, mattresses, tires and kiddie pools and kept the traffic moving! If you missed it, there's another Big Trash event in Thetford Saturday September 26th 9am to noon at the Town Garage in Thetford Center. Open to West Fairlee residents (and all GUVSWD member towns) - bulky trash, tires & electronics. Details posted on our website https://westfairleevt.gov/waste
