Subject: [Events-UV] Next Clifford Park Food Forest Volunteer Day, Sunday August 23 @ 10AM
Hello plant and tree enthusiasts! We'll be holding our next food forest volunteer day Sunday (August 23), 10 AM - Noon, at Clifford Park in West Hartford! For those new to Clifford Park, it is located at 100 Recreation Drive, White River Junction, VT 05001. This upcoming Sunday, we will mainly plan to sow cover crops where fleabane has been removed. This should help bring much additional color and life to the food forest, support soil health, and suppress additional fleabane that tries to make a resurgence. We will also continue monitoring the fruit trees and weeding around them. I include this note every time - but it always bears repeating: bring some work gloves, a tool or two if you have them, a positive attitude, and possibly a friend with a green thumb! All are welcome! We'll meet by the barn and tennis court at the South end of the park. We'll work through light rain, but will cancel if there is heavy rain or thunderstorms.
