Deep in the soil, more fertile than most Seeds germinate in the rich compost Tendrils of life spread through the earth Creating a surplus and never a dearth Enter the program known far and wide In the town of Lyme it does reside VegiCare blooms and knows its role To grow star veggies and then to dole Out to those who could use a few Lettuces, kale, and Swiss chard, too A bushel of cukes are off seen And many a string or yellow wax bean A bit of broccoli might not seem enough but we gladly receive big and small grown stuff Cabbages chubby and asparagus lean Grown by green thumbers behind the scene Veggies from you make our spirits perk up Monday rocks when we know you’ll turn up!
