Vermont Primary: Vote Aly Richards for Governor

Vermont’s primary is Tuesday, August 11 - and I want to make sure everyone has a plan to vote.

Here’s how:
Vote early, in person, at your Town Clerk’s office on Monday, August 10, 7am-7pm [or whatever your town clerk's hours are]
Mailed ballots won’t make it back in time - if you have one, drop it off directly at your Town Clerk’s office, or bring it with you to your polling place on Election Day.
Or vote on Election Day, Tuesday, August 11, at your regular polling place, 7am-7pm.

Voting is one of the most direct ways we get to shape our own future - it’s a real privilege, and this one matters. Whoever wins the primary race for governor will go on to face Governor Phil Scott in November, so the choice we make on August 11 is absolutely critical.

Aly RIchards is a Democratic candidate for Governor. I watched Aly grow up. She has always been a leader, while maintaining a wonderful sense of community and connection with everyone she meets. While working with the legislature to pass a landmark childcare bill, she built relationships with both Democrats and Republicans. She also was a deputy chief of staff to a former governor. This allowed her to see how government works. She doesn't take on labels like liberal or progressive, even though her vision could be seen as so. She sees the big picture. And she "gets things done."

I’m voting for Aly Richards for governor because I believe she can beat Phil Scott and lead Vermont forward. I hope you’ll join me.

Here's a quick note for anyone still wondering about PAC spending in this primary:

I don’t love the role of outside money in our politics. What’s important to know is that the PAC spending you may have seen is independent from Aly’s campaign. That money is not going to Aly’s campaign, and her campaign does not direct or control how it is spent.

Aly has been clear that she has not and will not accept corporate or corporate PAC money, that she doesn’t support the PAC spending, that she believes Citizens United has been a disaster for our democracy, and that she supports stronger campaign finance laws here in Vermont.
