Subject: [Events-UV] Fledge Fest is 3 Weeks Away and You're Invited!
Fledge Fest- Friday, August 21 & Saturday, August 22 at Fledgling Farmstead in Tunbridge Fledge Fest is an all-ages, community-minded, music and arts event. Our mission is to nurture community vibrancy through live music, the arts, and local food at an affordable price. Come for part of the event, or bring your tent and stay for the weekend! Fledge Fest aims to feature some of the best local food offerings, up-and-coming musicians from a wide selection of genres, skills shares and thoughtful workshops, and interactive art installations. This event is also a fundraiser! A portion of this year's proceeds will go to NOFA-VT's Farmer Emergency Fund and Fledgling Farmstead's 2027 CSA subsidy fund. Friday’s event is free, kicking off with a community potluck featuring roasted lamb raised on the farm, followed by a contra dance with Laussane Allen as caller and the Wailing Coywolves Contraband. At dusk, we will screen two shorts from the film project, Campfire Stories, featuring a few of the lovely portraits of sustainable living by filmmaker Mattias Olsson. Finally, local naturalist Cheryl Metcalf will lead a moth observation night to round out Friday evening. Saturday is a ticketed event, gates open at 11 and music starting at 1. Festival goers are invited to come early to join us for yoga, a native edible plant walk, immersive conversations about community resiliency, hands-on seed saving workshop, fiber work, block printing, and more! Forest art installations, including art from Bread and Puppet founder, Peter Schumann, encourage visitors to explore the stunning hilltop event space, while our lawn games, story walk, and children's Forest Playground offer something for all ages. Performances by twelve Vermont- and New-England-based artists offer music, dance, and theater for all tastes, while Vermont-based food trucks serve up Korean-inspired street food, wood-fired locavore dinner, and gelato. Beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks from Foxy's of Barre, and a bonfire and late-night DJ wrap up the evening. On site camping available.
