Subject: [Thetford] is your village building a float for the Labor Day parade?
Post Mills is in! Thetford Center is in! Rice's Mills is in! (I think). What about YOUR village? This year's Labor Day parade will be the denouement of a year-long 250th celebration, and in addition to a bevy of tractors, animals, jugglers, race cars, fire trucks, youth groups, baton twirlers, church congregations, antique cars, sports teams, Boy and Girl Scouts and our own Alford Stone as Grand Marshal, each village in town is invited to create a float to be displayed as part of the festivities. The Thetford Semi-Quincentennial committee has secured some grant funding that can be applied toward the cost of your float. This is a great community-building opportunity to show off your village's creativity and talent! What are you waiting for? An opportunity like this only comes along once every 250 years! For more information, please contact Sherry Merrick at smsherry28@gmail.com. See you on Route 244 on Labor Day, September 7th! Charlie Buttrey
