The Vermont Primary Election is Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

If you plan to vote by absentee ballot, now is the time to request one. Absentee ballots are available through the Town Clerk's Office, where you may also vote in person before Election Day. Ballots can also be requested through the Vermont Voter Portal or
by submitting a request form to the Clerk's Office.

Important deadlines:

• The Ballot Drop Box is available 24/7 and will close at 5:00 PM on Monday, August 10.

• After 5:00 PM on August 10, absentee ballots must be hand-delivered to the polls at Hartford High School Gym (37 Highland Ave., White River Junction) between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM on Election Day to be counted.

• Ballots returned by mail must be received by the Town Clerk's Office by August 11. Postmarks do not count.

• The Town Clerk's Office will close at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Monday, August 10, and will be closed on Election Day, Tuesday, August 11.
