SATURDAY, AUGUST 1ST 1:30PM –7PM BETTER TOGETHER
FINAL CELEBRATION

The Better
Together Final Event/Celebration is on Saturday, August 1st
starting
at 1:30PM at the Windsor Town Hall, 29 Union St, Windsor, * and
includes:

1:30PM
Parade led by the Celebration
Brass Band with giant puppets in attendance and featuring messages of hope
and justice. Participants gather for this joyous 1-mile parade around Windsor
starting at the Windsor Town Hall, heading east toward town, left on Main St,
Left on State St, and then ending at the Windsor High School auditorium.Once at the
Windsor High School, we'll have:

2:45-3:15PM
A performance by Windsor’s local acapella group, Women of Note.

3:30-4PM
A talk on justice, equality, hope and action with Speaker Wilmer
Chavarria, Winooski School Superintendent.

4:00-5:00PM
Riseup
Singing co-author Annie Patterson performs and leads participants in
song.We'll
then head to the Town Common for

5:15PM
A free community meal provided by Green Mountain Gumbo to continue
relationship-building and to keep the momentum going into the future.

Want to join the parade? That would be wonderful! Come as you are
or bring a big puppet or a poster with an uplifting message. (Nothing overtly
political, please - we're trying to bring folks together, not cause more division.)
Some sample sign messages could be.... "Immigrants Matter!" “Everyone
Loves a Dog!” "We Are All Immigrants," "Celebrate
Diversity," "Better Together," "Care for our Planet,"
"Plant Native Species!" "Build Community," "Share the
Planet," "Protect Endangered Species," "A Living
Wage," "More Bikes, Less Cars!" and probably a million other
possible messages that celebrate our lives, our planet, and work towards a
brighter future...

*If the weather is really bad, everything before 5pm takes place
at the High School. Meal location Windsor Welcome Center, 3 Railroad Ave.
