Community Sailing on Mascoma Lake

Subject: [Enfield] Mascoma Community Sailing on August 5th @ 4:15pm

The Mascoma Sailing Club is hosting Community Sailing on Wednesday, August 5th at 4:15pm at the Mascoma Lakeside Park with the goal of getting started at 4:30pm.

If you want to come sailing with us, you're welcome to join us. It's a great way to learn about sailing at no cost. For MSC members, it's an opportunity to get an orientation to Club sloops and to work on your sailing skills.
Please RSVP to Will McFarland at willmcfarland@gmail.com so we can ensure we have enough boats and skippers to accommodate everyone. It will also allow us to notify you if the event is cancelled due to the weather. If there is a cancellation, an update will be sent via email to participants by 3pm the day of the event. As safety is our first priority, we may not sail if there are high winds, no wind, or if thunderstorms threaten.
Some details:
- Life jackets will be provided if needed, but please bring your own if you have one.
- Water-friendly footwear is a good idea.
- Participants will need to be physically able to move from a rowing dinghy into a moored sailboat.
- Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and be comfortable moving unassisted from a rowing dinghy to the sailboat.
Currently Weather Underground is predicting southwesterly winds at about 5mph, which is just about the minimum for a community sailing day.
