Subject: [Enfield] This Week at the Library!
Hello everyone! Here's what's happening at the Enfield Public Library this week! Monday, 10-11am: Story Time in the Garden at the Enfield Shaker Museum Join us for a special outdoor Story Time in the Garden in partnership at the Enfield Shaker Museum Garden. Miss Kate will lead stories and songs for children under 5 and their caregivers in the beautiful surroundings of the Enfield Shaker Museum Children’s Garden. After story time, children will create a simple garden-themed ornament to take home, then explore the museum's Touch, See, Smell Sensory Garden and Children’s Pollinator Garden, where they can discover plants, flowers, and pollinators through hands-on exploration. Meet at the Red Shed in the Garden or, in case of rain, at the ministry house. Tuesday, 2-3PM: ONLINE - The Legacy of Julia Child's Kitchen with Smithsonian Curator Paula J. Johnson A Library Speakers Consortium and Smithsonian Institution Collaboration Join us for a conversation that’s sure to warm your heart (and make your stomach rumble), as we delve into the legacy of cooking icon Julia Child with Smithsonian curator and public historian Paula J. Johnson, author of Julia Child’s Kitchen: The Design, Tools, Stories, and Legacy of an Iconic Space. The book includes interviews with chefs who knew Julia well, commentary on her favorite culinary tools and kitchen gadgets, and a stunning array of photos. https://libraryc.org/enfield-public-library/102567 Wednesday, 10AM-12PM: Knitting & Fiber Group Saturday, 10:30-11:30AM: Music & Movement for Toddlers with Miss Ashley Music, fun movement, and free play for children ages 0-4 and their caregivers at the library the 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month! Coming up: Friday, August 14, 10:00 am: Simon Brooks Storyteller Your own local-to-New Hampshire British storyteller Simon Brooks will show that stories are everywhere waiting to be unearthed. Digging wells, giants creating hills, Ulysses and Cyclops, giants defeating sea monsters on the South Coast of Wales and maybe a ‘local’ New Hampshire tale will be part of this program. Co-sponsored with the Canaan Town Library. Have a great week! Best, Allison Foltyn (she/her) Adult Services & Technical Librarian Enfield Public Library 23 Main Street P.O.
