Subject: [Thetford] Farm History Programs Saturday August 8th, East Thetford
You are invited to join us for one or both of these 2 programs about farming over the years, part of Thetford's 250th (SQC) events. 1. From 11 am-12:30 pm on Saturday August 8th, learn about the history of the "Fairview Farm" from Marshall van Norden. The Sanborn family farmed along Sanborn Road for many years. Location: 566 Sanborn Road, East Thetford We'll spend about 30 minutes getting an overview of "Fairview Farm" from Marshall, and hearing some fascinating stories! Then if the weather permits, we will walk around the farm for about 30-40 minutes. 2. From 1 pm-3 pm on Saturday August 8th, in the New Suns Community Center, Route 5 North Thetford, you are encouraged to participate in an informal round table where farmers past and present, and those who love farms, will share stories and experiences in an informal circle, with a moderator. Refreshments will be served. Help The Historical Society save farm history! We would like to gather photos, stories and experiences about running farms, working on farms, or visiting farms.
